Walking Tour - 11/21/20 - 11:00
Enjoy a guided walking tour of the Green Bank Observatory campus!
Two Tour guides will lead you on a scenic walk from the Science Center grounds, passed telescopes and landmarks to the Green Bank Telescope, and back via our Nature Trail. Learn GBO history and information while viewing leading-edge facilities and instruments!
This tour is a 3-mile walk over varying terrain with slight gradients that will take 1.5-2 hours to complete. A face mask must be worn over your mouth and nose throughout the entire walking tour. Tours are not cancelled due to inclement weather unless lightning is in the immediate area. There are grassy areas, but no benches, along the route. The Tour Guides pause for a couple of water breaks.
Tour tickets include disposable mask and bottle of water. You can add a GBO water bottle and mask to your cart and pick up when you come for your tour!
By purchasing this ticket, you agree that you and everyone in your party will properly wear a mask for the entire tour. This is a long walk that will require some extended physical exertion, and could potentially expose you to someone with COVID-19 or some other sickness. This is an outdoor activity in the wilds of WV with everything that comes along with it (varying weather, bears, deer, groundhogs, grass and gravel, etc.). By continuing with this purchase, you assume and accept the risks and the liability resulting from the activity while you're on GBO property.
After purchase, claim ticket at Green Bank Science Center on the day of your tour at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time. You do not need to bring a receipt to claim your ticket. Ticket admits one; ticket required regardless of age. No discounts apply.
